Browns Rowing Boats offer rowing boat hire from April till October.

What better way to enjoy seeing historic Durham City than to hire one of our pleasure boats and go rowing on the river wear.

From the  Boathouse you can go up river to see the Bandstand & the famous Durham Ox or head down river for fantastic views of the Castle and Cathedral.

£10 returnable deposit required.

We are situated below the Prince Bishops Shopping Centre and can be accessed from the shopping centre, via Elvet Bridge or from the riverside walkway.

* Please note - Non swimmers are advised not to use rowing boats
